Becoming Great Helpers in Church and Community

Titus 2:3

As emerging ladies in the Apostolic Church-Ghana, we are called to become great helpers, serving with dignity, wisdom, strength, and partnership in our church, families, communities, and vocations, recognizing our value and worth as co-laborers with men in the kingdom of God, and using our gifts, talents, and skills to make a positive impact in the lives of those around us.

Becoming Great Helpers

The role of women in the church and community is vital, and as emerging ladies, it is essential to understand our calling as helpers. In the book of Titus, we are reminded of the importance of older women teaching and mentoring younger women in the ways of the Lord. This mentorship is crucial in helping us become great helpers, as it provides us with the guidance and support we need to navigate our roles in the church, family, and community.

As helpers, we are called to serve with humility and excellence, using our gifts, talents, and skills to make a positive impact in the lives of those around us. This requires us to be diligent in our pursuit of spiritual growth and development, seeking to deepen our understanding of God's word and to apply its principles in our daily lives. By doing so, we will become effective helpers, able to provide support and encouragement to those around us.

In the Apostolic Church-Ghana, we recognize the value and worth of women as co-laborers with men in the kingdom of God. As emerging ladies, we are encouraged to take an active role in the ministry of the church, using our gifts and talents to contribute to the growth and development of the body of Christ. This may involve serving in various capacities, such as teaching, preaching, evangelism, or community outreach.

A Story for the Heart

I recall a story of a young lady in our church who had a passion for teaching and mentoring. She began by serving in the children's ministry, where she developed her skills and gained experience. As she grew in her role, she began to take on more responsibilities, eventually becoming a leader in the ministry. Her dedication and commitment to serving others inspired many, and she became a great helper in our church, making a positive impact in the lives of those around her.

Another example is a lady who used her gift of cooking to serve the needy in our community. She began by providing meals for the homeless, and soon her ministry grew to include feeding programs for vulnerable children. Her selfless service and compassion inspired many, and she became a great helper in our community, making a lasting difference in the lives of those she served. These stories remind us that our role as helpers is not limited to the church, but extends to our communities, where we can make a positive impact in the lives of those around us.

Wisdom for This Week

As we strive to become great helpers, it is essential to remember that our role is not limited to the church or family. We are also called to make a positive impact in our communities, using our gifts and talents to address the needs of those around us. This may involve engaging in social justice initiatives, providing support to the vulnerable, or promoting education and empowerment programs.

The church provides a unique platform for emerging ladies to develop their skills and talents as helpers. Through various ministries and programs, we can receive training and mentorship, enabling us to become more effective in our roles. Additionally, the church provides a supportive community, where we can find encouragement and accountability as we seek to fulfill our calling as helpers.

Ultimately, our goal as emerging ladies is to become mature, Spirit-filled helpers, who are able to make a lasting impact in the lives of those around us. This requires us to be committed to our spiritual growth and development, seeking to deepen our understanding of God's word and to apply its principles in our daily lives. By doing so, we will become great helpers, able to provide support and encouragement to those around us, and to make a positive difference in our church, families, communities, and vocations.
