God declares that we are His workmanship, uniquely fashioned in Christ Jesus. He has appointed specific good works for each believer long before the foundation of the world. Our calling is not merely to exist, but to manifest His love through tangible deeds.
Scripture Focus
Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Reflection
The apostle Paul teaches that salvation is not an end in itself but the beginning of a life empowered for service. Being created in Christ means we inherit a divine identity that carries a mission: to do the good works God has prepared. This truth dispels any notion that merit earns favor; it is the gracious hand of God that equips us for purpose.
Living out this calling requires attentive hearts that recognize everyday opportunities to serve—whether in the church, the marketplace, or our neighborhoods. As we step obediently into the tasks God has set before us, He sustains us with strength and joy, and the community experiences His transformative love. Let us therefore pursue good works with confidence, knowing each act glorifies the One who formed us.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for shaping us as Your masterpiece and for the good works You have prepared for each of us. Grant us eyes to see the opportunities around us, courage to act, and a heart that delights in serving Your people. In Jesus' name, Amen.
