If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men freely, without reproach, and it will be given him. His generous answer invites us to depend on divine insight rather than our limited understanding.
Scripture Focus
James 1:5 - If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
Reflection
James writes this promise amid a letter urging believers to endure trials with joy. Wisdom, the purest treasure, is not earned by human effort but freely bestowed by a gracious Father who delights in meeting the sincere petitions of His children. The promise is unconditional—no reproach, no qualification—demonstrating God's character as a giver rather than a judge.
When we confront everyday choices—whether in ministry, family, or personal ambition—we must pause, confess our dependence, and request the Father's counsel. Let each decision begin with a prayerful petition, trusting that the Holy Spirit will illuminate the path. May this practice deepen our reliance on Christ and fill our lives with confident, Spirit‑led action.
Prayer
Father, grant me the humility to recognize my need for wisdom, and the confidence that You hear my request. Fill my heart with discernment, that I may walk in Your truth each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
